When considering relocating – especially if you’re considering a move to a new state or region – most people tend to consider states like California or Texas. But this is a huge mistake! Why overlook the smaller states (to be specific the smallest state) when looking to make a change.
Here are some reasons why you should look for a new home in the gorgeous state of Rhode Island.
Proximity to Oceans
The best parts about coastal cities are the beaches. But the bonus you get with moving to Rhode Island is that you’re never more than an hour’s drive away from the coast. Since RI is so small, you will never live too far away from some of the best beaches in the US.
And with being close to the ocean comes a ton of fun activities for you to do – either by yourself, with a significant other, or your family! Maybe it’s time for you to learn how to deep sea fish or sail! Maybe surfing or
East coast travel
One of the best things about living on the East coast is the ease of travel. If you’re already an East coast dweller than you’re probably used to how easy it is to get from point A to point B! The public transportation system on the East coast is unmatched and is something you must take advantage of by moving to Rhode Island.
There are plenty of exciting and new places to visit on the East coast. And you can easily take a day trip to New York City, Atlantic City, or the South Carolina shore.
When living in other parts of the United States, you may have noticed that you don’t really have four distinct seasons. As a former California girl myself, I was used to having a rainy winter and a scorching summer with no real spring or fall-like weather in between.
However, in Rhode Island, you’ll experience the best of what the four seasons have to offer (and no, I don’t mean the hotel). You’ll have hot summers followed by colorful falls. And you’ll have snowy winters followed by lush springs.
The school systems
If you like to eat, then you’ll love New England. There is nothing better than having New England Clam chowder or seafood in this region because it all comes straight out of the ocean directly to your plate.
There are plenty of regional dishes (like stuffed clams) that you must try once you relocate to this state. Believe me, if you think you love seafood now, just wait until you have a taste of Rhode Island.
Low crime rate
Another benefit of moving to this generally sleepy and laid back state is that the crime rate is insanely low. This small state almost has no room for crime!
Why would you choose to move to a state or a city with a ton of people but with a ridiculously high crime rate? Choose a place that will be safe for you (and your family)!
Rising property value
One thing that you can be sure of is that moving to Rhode Island will be a sound investment. While you may be looking for your forever home, if you do decide to sell your home in RI in the next few years (or few decades) you’ll probably be able to make a profit due to rising property values!
